Dani Ceballos is possibly on his way out of Real Madrid in the final week of the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old midfielder has been aware of this for some time, as he dropped a huge hint about a possible exit after Sunday’s game against Real Oviedo, where he appeared for only a few minutes.

Taking to social media soon after, Ceballos posted a cryptic comment that read ‘last dance’, hinting at a potential departure.

Now, a clip of his interaction with Real Oviedo icon Santi Cazorla has emerged which seems to underline the sentiment, or at least that is what could be inferred from their conversation on the pitch of the Carlos Tartiere before the match.

DAZN cameras captured that exchange in which Ceballos told Cazorla: “Yes, yes, I understand that there are important players,” referring to his limited participation in the team under Xabi Alonso on the Real Madrid bench.

“Last year I played 24 as a starter out of 68 matches and very well. I played 54 matches in total,” further explained the Andalusian, as he nears a departure.

Marseille have emerged as the likeliest destination for Ceballos, with the 29-year-old agreeing to join the Ligue 1 outfit, who are in talks with Real Madrid to finalise an agreement at the earliest possible.

Real Madrid, for their part, are seeking a fee of around €15-20 million for Ceballos and are also reluctant to let him go without securing a replacement.

Marseille, meanwhile, seem to leaning towards a loan deal with a purchase option inserted. So, it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached.
