Arsenal welcome Liverpool for a much-anticipated Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners returned to winning ways against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in midweek.

They did not play well but came out on top with a slender 1-0 victory.

Manager Mikel Arteta will want a better performance against the Reds, and he could have a double injury boost with Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber making the starting line-up.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

David Raya has been in exemplary form between the sticks for the Gunners. The Spaniard made a superb save in stoppage time to prevent Shakhtar from sharing the spoils. He is assured to start in goal.

There could be two changes to the backline. William Saliba is suspended after his sending-off against Bournemouth, while Riccardo Calafiori has suffered a minor knee injury.

Timber was spotted in the background of yesterday’s training session, and he could partner Gabriel Magalhaes with Ben White at right-back.

Arteta may pick Jakub at left-back. He is better defensively than Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has a knack for being out of position with his inverted runs.

Thomas Partey and Declan Rice should reclaim their places in midfield. Mikel Merino was far from his best in his full league debut and could return to the bench.

Arteta did not confirm Bukayo Saka’s, but it has been reported that he is ‘expected‘ to feature. The Gunners graduate should be an assured starter from the right side of the attack.

Saka has been a revelation this season, with ten goal contributions from as many games.

Gabriel Martinelli should start on the left wing on recent good form. Leandro Trossard had a poor outing in midweek, but he is in better touch at the moment than Gabriel Jesus, who has been misfiring.

Kai Havertz should lead the line as usual. He has six goals for the campaign and has netted in his last five league games at the Emirates. The German will be aiming to continue his scoring form.
