Chelsea and Manchester United are closely monitoring Hugo Ekitiké’s situation, and PSG could benefit financially if a deal goes through.
The 22-year-old striker is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt soon, with PSG set to receive 20 percent of any transfer fee due to a sell-on clause. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea remain interested in Ekitiké.
“Hugo Ekitiké is really appreciated by Chelsea, he’s a player they really like, but at the moment the negotiation is not closed at all because Chelsea were asking for information to Eintracht Frankfurt about the player and their answer was that his asking price is €100m,” Romano noted.
“So, that is the price tag from Eintracht, and at the moment that’s too expensive for Chelsea. Let’s see if the price changes or if Chelsea will decide to change their strategies later in the market.”

On Monday, Romano provided an update on the Ekitiké transfer race as clubs mull over whether they want to pay the high transfer fee.
“At the moment, there is still no club-to-club contact with Eintracht Frankfurt [and Manchester United],” Romano wrote in his CaughtOffside column. “It could be an option, yes, but still an expensive option because Eintracht already had contacts with Chelsea and Chelsea know that they want around €100m for Ekitiké.
“Liverpool also remain interested in the player, especially in case Darwin Nunez leaves the club, as he is expected to do this summer. So, Ekitiké is an option for Manchester United, he’s a player appreciated by the club, and also Christopher Vivell, who is now at Old Trafford, knows the player well because he’s worked in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, so he’s always monitoring Bundesliga developments.”
