Fabrizio Romano has all but ruled out the potential Victor Lindelof to Leicester transfer. Time for the Foxes to look elsewhere?

Now that the January transfer window is only a few days away from opening, all the attention will turn to one man - Fabrizio Romano. The transfer guru, as he is known, has the power to make football fans shut up and listen.

Some say that he has ruined the transfer window because it's got to the point where only what he says can be taken as gospel. However, the counter-narrative is that now football fans have someone who is reliable 99% of the time to rely on.

Unfortunately, his crystal ball abilty has not panned out in Leicester's favour this time.

According to Fabrizio Romano and GIVEMESPORT, the rumours linking Victor Lindelof to Leicester City are without any factual reality. Romano has claimed that Leicester have not been in contact with Lindelof and if anything, the defender will look elsewhere if he leaves United.

In his own words, Romano said: "There have been several links between Leicester City and Lindelof due to Ruud van Nistelrooy’s appreciation, but sources guarantee that there are no talks ongoing and probably the Swedish defender will look at different clubs when it’s time to leave Man United."

Look, I hate to be the bearer (re-bearer?) of bad news. However, it is important that Leicester and indeed the fans heard this before the transfer window opens. Now, the club can look at other options while fans can cancel their pre-ordered Leicester shirts with Lindelof on the back.

Regardless, Leicester will continue to be linked with defenders between now and the end of the January transfer window. Whether they sign a defender is dependent on other factors such as budget, availability and adherence to those pesky rules which nobody really likes.
