Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Liverpool are watching one of the most exciting players in the Premier League. This is one to keep an eye on.
Liverpool will re-enter the transfer market in 2026 as they continue their major rebuild project. The bulk of that project happened in 2025, of course, as the Reds invested massively in new talent.
That was primarily in the middle of their attack. Florian Wirtz arrived for a new club-record fee and then Alexander Isak arrived for a fee that broke that record - as well as the overall British transfer record.
Hugo Ekitike's transfer was sandwiched between the two, meaning Liverpool spent well over £300m to shake up things up. And that's without factoring in two new full-backs and a new centre-back.
But the thing is, they're not done. They're not even done with the attack as Liverpool didn't sign any new wingers, despite selling Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.
Mo Salah has no successor, either, and that's a situation the Reds need to fix in the near future. And it sounds as though they might be on that.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Threads that Liverpool are 'following' Antoine Semenyo right now. The Bournemouth winger has been a breakout star of this early Premier League season.
"[Liverpool are] following Semenyo progress closely, that’s for sure," he wrote.
Semenyo kicked off the campaign with six goals and three assists across his first seven Premier League fixtures with the Cherries. It's been an incredible run and while things have slowed down over the last four games, there's a sense that he's hit another level this year.
