Just one day after Liverpool’s final game of the season, the transfer rumours are starting to really ramp up.
A long list of names have been mentioned as potential signings this summer, as Liverpool look to bounce back from a disastrous title defence.
The exits of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have made things a bit more complicated, whilst the likes of Alisson Becker, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones and Federico Chiesa could all leave the club too.
Liverpool have already wrapped up one major deal, with Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet arriving for £60m once the transfer window opens.
But now, they are seemingly focusing on attacking options. RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande and PSG’s Bradley Barcola remain strong contenders, but Fabrizio Romano has now seemingly ruled out one potential option…
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “At the moment, my understanding is that Anthony Gordon is not that high on Liverpool’s list of preference.”
“In terms of preference, Liverpool have Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola. Anthony Gordon is not on this level of preference.”
The former Everton forward has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield for a number of years now. Back in 2024, Gordon was reportedly on the verge of joining the Reds but the move collapsed due to Newcastle United’s PSR issues.
But now, it seems certain that the 25-year-old will leave Newcastle United this summer. As it stands, Bayern Munich looks the most likely destination.
In terms of who could join, both Diomande and Barcola would be massive signings for the Reds. Whilst Gordon offers Premier League experience, there’s no real doubt that both Diomande and Barcola are closer to the world-class level needed to represent Liverpool.
