Here are our picks for Matchday 4:

Jordy Makengo, Freiburg (Defender, 3.99M, 0%)

Priced at just 3.99 million, Makengo stepped into the starting lineup for Freiburg in place of captain Christian Günter and delivered a solid 206 points last week. Since Freiburg secured their first win of the season against Stuttgart and Makengo put in a solid performance at left-back, the youngster looks set to keep his spot against Werder and offers great value for money.

Miro Muheim, Hamburger SV (Defender, 8.68M, 6%)

Recommending a HSV defender might raise eyebrows after their winless start and a 5-0 drubbing by Bayern, but this week’s home clash with Heidenheim should be a very different contest. Both sides have struggled, and a tight match looks likely. Operating as a wing-back, Miro Muheim has been HSV’s standout Fantasy Bundesliga performer so far, averaging a solid 169 points per game. With his duel strength and set piece involvement, he could be in for a productive matchday.

Willi Orban, RB Leipzig (Defender, 12.81M, 13%)

RB Leipzig have steadied the ship after their heavy 6-0 loss to Bayern, responding with back-to-back clean sheets. At the heart of that defensive improvement is Willi Orban, whose dominance in duels has been crucial. He’s averaged 278 points across his last two matches and looks like a reliable option going forward.

Alejandro Grimaldo, Bayer Leverkusen (Defender, 19.81M, 21%)

Anyone who passed on Grimaldo last week was left ruing the decision, as the Spaniard struck twice from direct free-kicks against Eintracht Frankfurt. His track record including a massive 436-point haul on Matchday 1 – indicates this was no fluke. Right now, he looks comfortably the standout option in defence. With Leverkusen hosting crisis-hit local rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach, leaving Grimaldo out could prove extremely costly.

Jan-Niklas Beste, Freiburg (Midfielder, 5.14M, 0%)

Beste made his first Bundesliga appearance of the season against Stuttgart, earning a solid 146 points, and he should keep his place following Freiburg’s win. The winger proved his quality during his time at Heidenheim, where he recorded eight goals and 13 assists in the 2023/24 campaign. Considering his low price and ownership, he could be worth a gamble.

Christoph Baumgartner, RB Leipzig (Midfielder, 8.31M, 2%)

After his 324-point haul against Heidenheim, Baumgartner followed up with another respectable performance against 1. FC Köln, scoring 186 points. Now set to face a Köln side that just conceded three goals to Wolfsburg, the attacking midfielder looks like a solid value pick at his price.

Ritsu Doan, Eintracht Frankfurt (Midfielder, 16.32M, 22%)

Eintracht Frankfurt will be eager to bounce back from their defeat to Bayer Leverkusen when they host an unconvincing Union Berlin side. With two goals and an assist already to his name this season, Doan continues to look like an excellent fantasy pick.

Igor Matanovic, Freiburg (Striker, 4.59M, 0%)

Matanovic made an instant impact off the bench, scoring a brace against Stuttgart on his Bundesliga debut for Freiburg. That performance should give the marksman plenty of confidence, and he looks set to start this time.

Jamie Leweling, Stuttgart (Striker, 8.68M, 3%)

Averaging 226 points per game, Leweling has been one of the better-performing Stuttgart players in what has been a disappointing start to the season for the club. With the Swabians having a favourable schedule ahead, now could be a good time to bring in the German international.

Patrik Schick, Bayer Leverkusen (Striker, 11.67M, 18%)

Schick took his league goal tally to three for the season with a strike against Eintracht Frankfurt last week. Priced at just 11.67 million, the Czech marksman looks undervalued given the impact he’s likely to have and the number of goals he’s expected to score as Leverkusen’s top striker.
