There’s a big Fantasy Premier League blank gameweek this weekend with six teams out of action. FPL managers will be shuffling their squads to plug the gaps, with GW34 expected to be popular for remaining chips.
We’ve picked out five players to consider transferring in before the deadline.
Bruno Fernandes has been one of the most reliable assets in FPL again this season and is chasing down personal history.
The Portugal international has five double-digit hauls at Old Trafford in his last six home appearances, during a remarkable run towards the Premier League’s assist record. He’s got 18 assists for the season to date, and needs three more in the final five games to eclipse Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne’s single-season record.
If anyone is going to dig West Ham out of trouble, it will be Jarrod Bowen. Even in a struggling side this season, the captain has impressed. He’s scored eight goals and created eight more in the Premier League this season, while he’s been perennially involved in West Ham’s best moments at the London Stadium.
Bowen has been directly involved in seven of the club’s last nine games on home soil, with a goal and six assists. His set pieces have been problematic with opposition sides, particularly targeting the in-form Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Mohamed Salah has been largely overlooked for much of the campaign, with his 17.3% ownership far lower than recent seasons. The Egyptian’s drop-off has been stark, and he will leave Liverpool this summer.
However, Salah will have his sights on ensuring Champions League qualification first. He could be an option as those on a Free Hit reinvest funds saved from Erling Haaland’s absence.
Salah has 14 goals and assists in 17 career appearances against Crystal Palace. He’s also scored in three of his last four Premier League appearances.
Morgan Gibbs-White has been key to Nottingham Forest’s climb away from trouble and scored his first career hat-trick in last weekend’s win over Burnley. A trip to Sunderland on Friday night is not the easiest of tasks, but form is with the midfielder, who has six goals in six games. Gibbs-White has 12 goals in the Premier League, a leading total among midfielders. Nine of those goals have come in a 14-game run to start 2026.
Watkins is the most transferred-in player of the gameweek, with the Aston Villa forward having found form in recent weeks. The 30-year-old has scored six goals in his last five games across all competitions, adding an assist. Though Villa might have one eye on a looming Europa League semi-final next week, a Saturday lunchtime kick-off gives plenty of break between their trip to Fulham and the European tie.
Friday April 24th at 6:30pm BST.
