Daniel Farke revealed that Leeds could be missing two starters through injury for their crunch clash at Wolves on Saturday.
Farke’s side are 16th going into the match against the Premier League’s bottom club, having lost to Fulham in the 94th minute last weekend when Gabriel Gudmunsson headed the ball into his own net.
Daniel James was substitued at the end of that match with a calf injury and the manager gave an update on the forward’s fitness.
“We have a few doubts for this game,” the Leeds boss said. “Daniel James is obviously a major doubt, he is struggling with a hit in the muscle.”
Willy Gnonto was the player who replaced the Welshman but his manager added that he is also a doubt for the match against Wolves.
“Also, Willy Gnonto is a doubt, struggling with some calf problems. He missed a few training sessions so there will be late calls with both of them but I have to say they are major doubts. Apart from that everyone is in a good place,” Farke said.
Leeds goalkeeper Lucas Perri was signed from Lyon this summer but missed the match against Fulham with a thigh injury. He is set to be out for the game this weekend too, with Karl Darlow keeping his place.
“He is also out for this game, in the middle of next week we will have a clearer picture of how long he will be out,” Farke explained. “For these two away games, we won’t have him available and Karl will play again.”
