FC Augsburg closing in on capture of Sporting Lisbon talent | OneFootball

As reported by Sky Germany, FC Augsburg have secured the services of Rodrigo Ribeiro from Sporting Lisbon.

The Fuggerstädters have signed the 20-year-old on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy him afterwards.

According to the pay-TV broadcaster, the medical examination is scheduled to take place at some point today, January 14.

The right-footed player impressed with his performances for Sporting's reserve team in Portugal's second division this season.

So far he has bagged six goals in eleven appearances and also gained experience with Sporting's first team occasionally.

Ribeiro's potential is evident, among other things, in his release clause which the Portuguese club has set at €60 million. 

However, it's highly unlikely that Augsburg's purchase option is in that range given it would be considerably outside of their budget limit.
