O Jogo reports that FC Porto posted a positive first half result for 2025/26 despite missing the Champions League and a fall in television income. Staff costs rose 34%, reaching €51.2m in the same period.
The personnel line includes severance payments for contract terminations and bonuses linked to sporting performance.
Overall, first-team wage expenditure increased, and women’s football accounted for a larger share of these costs.
The integration of FC Porto - Serviços Partilhados also contributed, adding €1.1m to staff costs.
Taken together, these factors limited how much the club’s half year figures could have improved.
