Fenerbahce are pushing to sign Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, with the Turkish club set to offer in excess of €35 million for the Nigerian’s services.
La Dea, faced with a €40 million package (including bonuses), are reportedly ready to give the green light for the deal. Atletico Madrid are also interested in the 28-year-old, having placed an enquiry. However, Fenerbahce are currently ahead of the Spanish club in the pecking order.
Sporting director Devin Özek has reportedly travelled to Italy to discuss the possible move and negotiations are said to be serious.
Last summer, Lookman was already looking to leave Bergamo. Inter Milan and Bayern Munich had both made inquiries, but nothing materialised.
This season, the 41-cap Super Eagles star has played 19 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists. This is a shadow of last term’s return, which saw him register 20 goals and six assists across 40 all-competition games as Atalanta finished third in Serie A.
