Corinthians have agreed internally not to sell both midfielders André and Breno Bidon in this transfer window, with only one to be negotiated if strong bids arrive.
According to Globo.com, head coach Fernando Diniz set out the stance on Thursday night. It came after a 3-0 win over Remo in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. The aim is to protect the team’s structure and competitiveness.
Even so, departures remain possible, with the window open and the club in a severe financial crisis that includes four transfer bans and overdue image rights payments to the men’s first-team squad. The board is targeting at least 25 million euros, about R$ 144.4 million.
There are currently no formal offers. André held a video call with Juventus last week, but the Italians have not submitted a bid. Earlier this year Milan offered 17 million euros for him, a move vetoed by president Osmar Stabile.
Corinthians also anticipate interest in Matheuzinho, Hugo Souza, Yuri Alberto and Matheus Bidu. Diniz said he and the hierarchy are aligned, any exit must command a significant fee, the preference is to keep everyone and, from the André and Bidon pair, allow at most one departure while remaining competitive in the Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil and Conmebol Libertadores.
