The FIFA World Cup 26™ action produced plenty of drama once more on an exciting Matchday 13 on Tuesday.
It is time to dive into the top performers from FIFA's Power Rankings - powered by Aramco.
Attacking Score: Cristiano Ronaldo
What a way to silence the doubters. With rumblings about the Portugal captain's place in the side after a frustrating opening game, he came to the fore against Uzbekistan for an Attacking Score of 8.2.
That was the highest of the game as he netted twice with two clinical finishes to become the first player in World Cup™ history to score at six separate editions of the tournament.
Creativity Score: Bruno Fernandes
Coming off a superb club season with Manchester United, the midfielder has continued that form into the World Cup™, as his 8.4 Creativity Score can attest to.
In raw numbers, he broke the defensive line six times, the midfield line 10 times, played 10 progressive passes and also claimed an assist.
Defending Score: Nuno Mendes
Completing a Portuguese clean sweep for the top ranked players for each category, Mendes registered a 7.8 for his Defending Score.
He won two tackles and another additional duel, kept his side to a clean sheet and even chipped in at the other end too with a first goal of the tournament.
Attacking Score: Anthony Gordon
With an Attacking Score of 6.8, the newly signed Barcelona man was the top ranked performer on the field in England's scoreless stalemate with Ghana.
He had one of his side's few shots on target with an effort from the edge of the area and had seven ball progressions and seven take-ons apiece before being substituted.
Creativity Score: Thomas Partey
Back in midfield after missing Ghana's opener, Partey showed what they had been missing with a 7.8 Creativity Score, ranking highest for threatening passes and line breaks.
He provided control for his side in key moments of the contest and also blocked key passing lanes into Harry Kane too which led to attacking transitions.
Defending Score: Elliot Anderson
The in-demand Nottingham Forest midfielder registered a 7.0 Defending Score for his all-action display at the heart of the action.
He won four aerial duels and four duels for possession, while shielding his defence effectively. His work rate allowed England to compete for second balls and quickly regain possession, helping secure a clean sheet.
Attacking Score: Ante Budimir
The 34-year-old was the big factor for Croatia, netting the only goal of the game to kickstart their World Cup™ campaign - and help himself to an 8.3 Attacking Score in the process.
In one of the game's few moments of true quality, his movement was key to pounce on a low cross from the right and deliver a big three points.
Creativity Score: Mario Pašalić
Pašalić was Croatia's most progressive player throughout, which contributed massively to his 7.6 Creativity Score.
He combined well with Josip Stanišić down the right to penetrate Panama's 5-4-1 block for the only goal of the game and had several impressive moments aside from that too in breaking defensive lines.
Defending Score: Josip Stanišić
Involved in plenty of big situations to help his side to a clean sheet, Stanišić was more than worthy of his 7.6 Defending Score.
Solid throughout with six possession regains, two blocks in the defensive third, five clearances and 11 defensive actions, he even popped up in a big way at the other end too, providing the assist for the only goal of the game.
Attacking Score: Daniel Muñoz
Muñoz was the natural choice for the top rating of the contest in an attacking sense, registering 7.9 for popping up with the only goal of the game.
His late deflected strike was his second goal in as many games and capped off a fine performance.
Creativity Score: Juan Quintero
The midfielder made a key impact coming off the bench and that is evidenced in his rating, with Quintero earning a Creativity Score of 9.0.
He played 11 progressive passes, broke the defensive line on two separate occasions leading to chances and provided the pivotal pass for Muñoz's match-winning strike.
Defending Score: Davinson Sánchez
A Defending Score of 8.0 saw the Colombia man secure the game's top rating for a defensive performer.
He forced nine turnovers, made four clearances, put in two blocks, won one tackle in his own area and ensured his side would not be breached at the back.
At the FIFA World Cup 2026™, FIFA launched a new individual player ranking system based on data collected during matches. The FIFA Power Rankings provide objective, data-driven insight into player performance.
All outfield players will receive a score between 0-10 in three categories (attacking, creativity and defending). Goalkeepers will be scored in two categories: in possession and defending the goal. A ‘Power Ranking Classification’ will be produced after each match round, showing the top 100 players in each category. The Power Ranking is considered as a measure of match and tournament performance: each player receives a score for each match and for their overall performance in the tournament.
