FIFA’s official resale platform has thrown up eye watering prices for the 2026 World Cup final. Four Category one seats behind a goal were listed at about two point three million dollars each, just under two million euros, baffling supporters a little over six weeks before kick-off.
Together the quartet topped nine point one million dollars. The listings were for the 19 July 2026 showpiece at MetLife Stadium in New York. According to The Guardian, a two point three million dollar resale would yield 690,000 dollars, around 590,000 euros, in commission for FIFA.
On the marketplace, sellers set their own prices. The platform also takes a 15% fee from both the buyer and the seller. Those seats were originally bought for far less in the standard sale.
Even the more affordable adverts were out of reach for many supporters. As of Thursday, the lowest available seats were still near 10,000 euros.
FIFA has been criticised in recent months over surging prices, and pressure has intensified with the tournament due in the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July.
