Serie A side Milan are all but set to sign Lazio’s Mario Gila, who arrives on a permanent transfer. The Spaniard will be a key player for the Rossoneri but his arrival could lead to the departure of Fikayo Tomori.
The Englishman has previously been close to a move to England. Milan had once reached an agreement with Tottenham to sell him but the player rejected the deal.
Daniele Longo has reported that things can now change. Tomori has been transfer listed by Milan, who want to align their ideas with that of Ruben Amorim’s. Gila’s arrival means the backline will undergo reshuffling and Tomori’s exit is part of that change.
The defender has attracted interest from English clubs, with Milan demanding €20 million to execute his sale. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also expected to depart, having never made significant impact last season.
Increasingly, it feels like Tomori’s time at Milan is up. He did do well in parts last season but his contract runs out in 2027 and Milan would be in the need to sell him. A move back to England would make sense, with Tomori having had experience of doing well in the English top-flight.
