Filipe Luís highlights two positives from Andrew’s Flamengo debut

Signed as Flamengo’s second signing for 2026, goalkeeper Andrew made his debut in the Fla-Flu at the Maracanã, a 2-1 defeat to Fluminense.

According to Coluna Do Fla, coach Filipe Luís singled out the newcomer’s courage on the ball and overall quality in a difficult first outing.

He noted there will be adjustments to help Andrew when he plays and said he liked the debut. In wet conditions, the coach felt the keeper stayed secure and held firm.

Early on, Léo Ortiz tried to chest a back-pass to him, but the ball stopped in a puddle, forcing the goalkeeper to race out and make his first notable stop. He made four saves in total.

Even so, he conceded two goals. Andrew now looks for further opportunities, competing for the spot with his mentor, Agustín Rossi.
