Fimbres, Ocampos send CF Monterrey to Round of 16 | OneFootball

GUADALUPE, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continued with CF Monterrey defeating CSD Xelajú MC, 2-nil, in the Second Leg of their Round One series, with the former winning 3-1 on aggregate, on Wednesday at Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

CF Monterrey entered the match with a slight advantage due to its away goal in the 1-1 draw in Guatemala in the First Leg.  

The home side pulled ahead in the 33’ through Iker Fimbres, who slotted the ball away from close range following an assist from Anthony Martial. 

Martial nearly doubled the lead for Rayados in the 55’, but his attempt from the right side of the box bounced off the left post. 

Lucas Ocampos converted from the penalty spot in the 83’ to seal the victory and help the Mexican side advance to the next round.

CF Monterrey will face defending champions Cruz Azul in the Round of 16 next month.
