TSV 1860 München will not receive the required license for the 3. Liga from the German Football Association (DFB) for the 2026-27 season, the Bavarian club has confirmed.
This is due to a failure to provide the necessary proof of liquidity by the deadline and to fulfill a financing commitment by our shareholder Hasan Ismaik and his associated companies.
According to the statement on the club's site, the management of 1860 München is working closely with experienced experts and consultants in the field of insolvency law.
The aim is to maintain orderly business operations while safeguarding the rights and interests of the company and to develop a viable future perspective together.
“I regret the failure of shareholder HAM International to honor its financing commitment," said Manfred Paula, managing director of 1860 München.
"Until the very end, I was firmly convinced that a solution could be found in the interest of the professional football club. Unfortunately, this wish has not been fulfilled.
“We will now devote all our energy to assembling a competitive squad for the upcoming season in the Regionalliga Bayern,” he said, as the club drops into the fourth tier.
Meanwhile, BILD reports that the club will owe around €1million to obtain their Regionalliga license – failing to do so could threaten 1860 München with possible insolvency.
