Fiorentina pre-season squad omits Robin Gosens and Jacopo Fazzini | OneFootball

Fiorentina have named a 29-man pre-season group under new coach Fabio Grosso, with Robin Gosens and Jacopo Fazzini left out as several players are frozen out.

According to Football Italia, training begins Monday at Viola Park in Florence, with Grosso planning a major rebuild after a dismal campaign spent largely in the relegation zone before a late escape.

Gosens had already been told he was not in their plans. Fazzini is on the verge of joining Cagliari, while teenage striker Riccardo Braschi is heading to Padova on loan.

Players returning from loans and omitted include Riccardo Sottil, M’Bala Nzola, Amir Richardson, Antonin Barak and Paolo Bianco.

Fabiano Parisi will work separately as he recovers from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, while Marin Pongracic has extra holiday after the World Cup with Croatia.

Alex Jimenez has not yet completed his transfer with Bournemouth and will be added once it is finalised. The group features Christensen and De Gea among the goalkeepers, plus Dodo, Dragusin, Ranieri, Mandragora, Fagioli, Ndour, Kean, Gudmundsson and Piccoli.
