Manuel Neuer has confirmed he has played his final game for Germany following Monday’s World Cup exit to Paraguay.
In addition, five senior players are seen as likely to have made their last appearances, Sport1 suggests, naming Antonio Rüdiger, Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sané, Pascal Groß and Oliver Baumann.
Rüdiger, 33, has cast doubt on continuing and will use his holiday to reflect on whether to keep representing his country.
Goretzka, 31, whose Bayern Munich contract has expired, is also viewed as likely to have won his last cap. So too is Sané, 30, who has faced heavy criticism, with both widely regarded as having peaked.
Veterans Groß, 35, and Baumann, 36, are likewise seen as unlikely to feature in a new-look squad. Germany are expected to embark on a significant rebuild after another disappointing tournament.
