Five years ago Palmeiras clinched a second Copa Libertadores, beating Santos 1-0 at the Maracanã through Breno Lopes. It was Abel Ferreira’s first title in charge.
Nosso Palestra reports that one member of that matchday squad remains at the club, captain Gustavo Gómez, while Raphael Veiga is in advanced talks with América of Mexico.
Goalkeeper Jailson has retired and plays amateur football in São Paulo. Weverton left for Grêmio at the start of this season, Marcos Rocha followed in mid 2025 and Mayke joined Santos the same year. Matías Viña returned from Europe to Flamengo and is now on loan at River Plate, Alan Empereur is at Cuiabá, Benjamín Kuscevic moved via Coritiba to Fortaleza, Emerson Santos is at América-MG and Luan departed for Toluca.
Former captain Felipe Melo retired after a spell at Fluminense. Zé Rafael has moved to Santos. Danilo left for Nottingham Forest but is back in Brazil with Botafogo, Patrick de Paula belongs to Botafogo and is on loan at Remo, Gabriel Menino joined Atlético-MG in 2025 and is currently loaned to Santos, Lucas Lima plays for Goiás and Gustavo Scarpa now represents Atlético-MG.
Rony is at Atlético-MG and has advanced negotiations to join Santos for the 2026 season. Willian Bigode plays for América-MG and Luiz Adriano has retired after low-key spells at home and abroad. Match-winner Breno Lopes moved to Fortaleza then, after their relegation, was sold to Coritiba.
The list covers only those named for the Maracanã final, others featured during the campaign.
