Flamengo have confirmed that Johnny Góes will undergo surgery after injuring his left shoulder against Bangu. He left the Moça Bonita pitch in pain on Wednesday.
The club said in a statement that he suffered trauma to the area, and tests showed an acromioclavicular joint injury requiring surgical treatment.
The incident occurred near the byline during a challenge. Góes briefly returned to the field but soon requested to come off, with initial treatment starting at Estádio Moça Bonita. He was withdrawn before half-time.
The procedure is scheduled for Thursday 15 at 17:00 at Hospital Niterói D’Or, to be carried out by Flamengo’s medical department alongside Dr Bruno Tebaldi, a shoulder and elbow specialist.
The player is clinically stable and will receive further assessment, with updates to follow after surgery. He started the first two matches of Flamengo’s 2026 Carioca campaign but will now be sidelined and miss upcoming state games.
Flamengo face Volta Redonda on Saturday 17 in the second round of the Carioca, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Raulino de Oliveira.
