Flamengo are one week from ending their break, with the squad due to reconvene at Ninho do Urubu on Friday 19. According to Coluna Do Fla, a Portugal camp and friendlies will follow during the World Cup.

The World Cup has only just begun, yet Flamengo last played on 30 May, a 3-0 win over Coritiba, and have been on holiday since.

The delegation departs for Portugal on 28 June to play three friendlies as part of a training camp during the tournament. Opponents are Falkirk of Scotland, Birmingham of England and Benfica of Portugal.

The schedule lists Falkirk on three or four July, Birmingham on eight July and Benfica on eleven July, with the return set for twelve July. Flamengo will travel without players on World Cup duty, and Leonardo Jardim will complete the squad with academy youngsters.

Competitive action resumes on 22 July away to Chapecoense in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, at Arena Condá.

The CBF has yet to confirm the kick-off time. Flamengo then face São Paulo on 26 July in the 20th round.
