Flamengo has increased prices for its membership programme by 10%, calling the move inevitable, while members complain benefits have barely improved since the 2013 launch.
New monthly fees now range from R$ 21,80 for Nação Sem Fronteiras to R$ 357,94 for Nação Maraca 1. Guest charges on eligible plans rise to R$ 60 per person.
Rafael Santos da Silva Guimarães, the club’s first registered member, said the scheme has long offered little beyond purchase priority with discounted tickets and argued other clubs include entry on top tiers. He added that years of few perks leave him considering cancellation and urged the board to listen more and improve the experience.
Flamengo links the adjustment to inflation and rising costs such as energy, services and wages, arguing the alternative would be to weaken football competitiveness and operations. The club says it is investing heavily in data and CRM to better understand member profiles.
“Unfortunately there is cost inflation in Brazil, things get more expensive. You have to pass that on somehow, otherwise you lose competitiveness. Eventually it is inevitable to increase prices. Our commitment is always to win, win and win,” said president Bap. He told Flamengo TV.
Launched on 26 March 2013, the programme has been repeatedly reshaped, including a contentious 165% rise for Off Rio members in 2020 and a full overhaul in 2025 that introduced the current Nação tiers.
