Organised Flamengo supporters staged a peaceful protest as the team arrived by bus at the Maracanã ahead of facing Madureira. According to Coluna Do Fla, the Raça Rubro-Negra led the demonstration with banners and chants directed at the players.

The messages demanded the squad honour the shirt, accused the side of lacking shame, and said playing for Mengo requires commitment. Banners also criticised the board, complained that salaries are paid while fight is missing, and referenced Filipe Luís and his methods.

Raça director Yuri said the action was driven by what the group sees as a lack of on-field commitment and a failure by the hierarchy to address disrespect towards the shirt. He also called Filipe Luís a stubborn coach who persists with what they believe are errors, adding that supporters are the club’s true asset and must be respected.

A similar demonstration took place on Saturday 28 at Ninho do Urubu after defeat to Lanús of Argentina in the Recopa. The same banners appeared and the tone was demanding, and there was no violence.

Flamengo have the chance to respond later, from 21:00 Brasília time, in the Campeonato Carioca semi-final second leg against Madureira. Having won the first leg 3-0, only a surprise defeat would see them eliminated, with the match on SporTV and Premiere.
