Flamengo’s Tuesday briefing centres on Gonzalo Plata’s future and a light-hearted mix-up involving Léo Pereira while on Brazil duty, with the squad continuing preparations to return from the international break.
On Monday 30, club president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Bap, said Flamengo have no intention of negotiating Plata, adding that the matter is being handled by the football department. He spoke during the launch of the documentary Zico: o Samurai de Quintino.
Pereira admitted he initially thought Carlo Ancelotti was sending him off when the coach greeted him in Italian. “I had not even arrived when he said ‘ciao’. You get very nervous at the time, but he is Italian, so I realised it was the language. Then he said, ‘Pleasure, how was the trip, Léo?’, and I said it was great,” he told TNT Sports.
Brazil face Croatia in a friendly ahead of the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday 31 at 21:00, Brasília time, at Estádio Camping World in Orlando, United States. Flamengo players Danilo and Léo Pereira are available to head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Probable Brazil XI: Ederson, Ibañez (Danilo), Marquinhos, Léo Pereira, Douglas Santos, Casemiro, Danilo (Andrey Santos), Luiz Henrique, Matheus Cunha, João Pedro, Vini Jr.
