Flamengo’s Carbone sent off after 10 minutes against Volta Redonda

Flamengo were reduced to 10 men after 10 minutes against Volta Redonda in the Campeonato Carioca, with Carbone sent off.

Playing at left-back, the defender halted a break with an over-the-top challenge. Coluna Do Fla reports that it was a tackle from behind on Ygor Catatau. He received a second yellow and was dismissed.

Volta Redonda scored soon after, taking a 1-0 lead at Estádio Raulino de Oliveira.

In response, Bruno Pivetti withdrew Kaio Nobrega and introduced Gusttavo. Flamengo still had the second half to level and, possibly, turn it around.

Carbone will miss the third-round meeting with Vasco. There is a chance the first team could debut in that derby on Wednesday, 21, at 21:00 Brasília time.
