Florentino Luís joins Ipswich Town, Benfica to receive 930,000 euros | OneFootball

Ipswich Town have confirmed the signing of Florentino Luís on Tuesday, with Benfica set to bank a solidarity payment following his move from Burnley.

According to Glorioso 1904, the deal is worth around £16 million, approximately 18.7 million euros, and Benfica will receive 930,000 euros via FIFA’s five percent solidarity mechanism on the Burnley to Ipswich fee.

Florentino had already delivered 26 million euros to Benfica at the end of last season, 24 million plus 2 million, through Burnley’s obligation to buy after a season-long loan.

A Benfica academy graduate, he debuted for the first team in 2018/19 and played two seasons before loans to Monaco and Getafe, then returned under Roger Schmidt. He won two league titles, three Supertaças and one Taça da Liga.

In 2025/26 with Burnley he made 33 appearances, 31 in the Premier League and two in the FA Cup, across 2,220 minutes, registering two assists. He was valued at 16 million euros.
