Florentino Pérez does not draw a salary as Real Madrid president, and his earnings come chiefly from ACS, where his annual pay has risen almost 15%.
According to Superdeporte, citing data published by the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores, his remuneration reached 9.14 million, split between 2.51 in fixed pay and 6.19 in short term variable.
Pérez is one of Spain’s most prominent businessmen and is in his second spell leading the club. He also serves as president of ACS. At 79, Forbes ranks him among the country’s biggest fortunes.
Becoming president or joining the Real Madrid board requires meeting strict criteria, including a sizeable guarantee. Money made in the Bernabéu box is not a wage, it flows from business and relationships fostered on matchdays.
Notably, ACS CEO Juan Santamaría took home about 1.5 million more than Pérez. The increase is significant, yet well below the company’s 73.68% revaluation on the Ibex 35.
