Fluminense beat Athletico Paranaense 3-2 at the Maracanã, with Guilherme Arana's stoppage time winner lifting them from third to second in the Brasileirão.
Stiven Mendoza put Athletico-PR ahead in the fifth minute, but Hércules levelled (9.) from Jefferson Savarino's pass. Bruno Zapelli was sent off (28.) after a VAR review, before Agustín Canobbio fired Flu in front (37.) from another Savarino delivery.
After the restart, Luiz Gustavo equalised with a header (75.) from a set piece, but Arana decided the game in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time.
Flu dominated with 24 attempts, 10 on target, and 78.8% possession. Santos made seven saves to keep Athletico-PR in contention.
After late changes, substitutes Yeferson Soteldo and Rodrigo Castillo joined the push as the Tricolor Carioca pressed for the winner.
