Folarin Balogun is having his best season at AS Monaco since making the move from Arsenal back in the summer of 2023, in part thanks to Kevin Mirallas, who arrived as a striker coach as part of Sébastien Pocognoli’s staff.

However, in a press conference attended by Get French Football News, the USMNT forward revealed that he didn’t initially recognise the former Everton man.

“I saw some clips. I saw Kevin Mirallas play on MOTD. I remember him. When he came here, I didn’t realise it was him at first, then when I looked at him, I realised, but he is a super humble guy. He didn’t come across as a legend of football; he just came across as a normal person,” said Balogun.

He added, “Kevin came in and immediately, he was speaking and trying to engage with me. I felt this. As a striker, you can appreciate this. I feel as though I am an easy person to approach and to work with. He is definitely giving me confidence every day.”
