Forest close in on £20m deal for Man City midfielder | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest are nearing the signing of midfielder James McAtee from Manchester City, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The deal, reportedly in its final stages, is expected to be completed for a fee in excess of £20 million. While the transfer has not yet been officially confirmed by either club, Forest are said to be confident that the agreement will be finalised soon.

McAtee, 22, has long been regarded as one of City’s most promising academy graduates. Having spent time on loan at Sheffield United, he has found first team opportunities at City limited due to the club's midfield options.

The move to Forest would mark a significant investment by the East Midlands club, who appear keen to strengthen their midfield ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
