Tuttomercatoweb reports Nottingham Forest are eyeing Atalanta defender Raoul Bellanova as the summer window opens on Monday, June 15, with Vitor Pereira targeting a few additions while keeping most of his squad together.
The 26-year-old is expected to be available in the coming weeks and could head to the Premier League, with a price tag put at €20-15m, around £17-13m. Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur are also monitoring.
Bellanova joined Atalanta from Torino two years ago. After a strong first campaign he struggled for consistency last term, making 24 Serie A appearances, 15 from the start, amid injury issues.
AC Milan retain interest on the right, and Bellanova can cover right-back, right wing-back, centre-back or winger. That flexibility would suit Forest, who want depth for a back three or four and expect a relatively small squad.
TuttoAtalanta claims Atalanta are already seeking replacements as they anticipate Marco Palestra’s departure, and that 23-year-old Nicolo Savona, who joined from Juventus a year ago, has caught their eye.
Savona made 20 appearances for Forest before knee surgery ended his season early. His future at the City Ground is uncertain and a sale could be considered if the right offer arrives.
TEAMtalk states Forest, along with Manchester United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion, Everton and Crystal Palace, have held conversations about Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado, although a move to Monaco appears likely as they work on a fee above £20m.
