Graziano Cesari criticizes Simone Sozza for his woeful performance in last night’s Supercoppa Italiana final between Inter and AC Milan.

In his post-game talk with Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the 68-year-old commented on Sozza’s dubious decisions.

Despite his vast experience in Serie A, the 37-year-old wasn’t equal to the task in Riyadh yesterday evening.

His decision not to award a free kick to Inter at 2-0 ignited Milan’s comeback.

Indeed, Sozza didn’t spot a foul on Kristjan Asllani, leading up to the set piece subsequently converted by Theo Hernandez.

Sozza’s oversight put the wind in Milan’s sails, ultimately resulting in a spectacular 3-2 triumph.

There’s no doubt that Sergio Conceicao’s side deserved the goals.

However, the referee’s mistakes cast a shadow on their victory, stirring controversy after the game.

Graziano Cesari Delivers Verdict on Simone Sozza Poor Refereeing in Inter vs Milan Supercoppa Italiana Final

Cesari’s 12-year tenure in Serie A makes him uniquely qualified to judge Sozza’s decisions.

“Minute 50, Sozza moves along the midfield line and doesn’t watch what happens between Morata and Asllani,” he stated.

“But then he sees clearly when Mkhitaryan knocks Leao down at the edge of the box.

“Previously, however, Morata doesn’t touch the ball but hits Asllani’s heel: Sozza, who was turned, doesn’t see it, and it’s a mistake.

“A yellow card for Calhanoglu at the 13th minute for a tackle on Musah is missing; just like a yellow for Thiaw for a tackle on Barella at the 76th minute.

“Sozza wasn’t precise.

‘There were serious errors, especially regarding the moment they occurred, particularly the foul on Asllani that went unnoticed.

“I’m very sorry, but I can’t give him a 6,” Cesari concluded.

Sozza’s blunders are no justification for Inter’s second-half collapse.

Indeed, Simone Inzaghi’s men were the architects of their slump at the King Saud University Stadium.
