Former Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy (31) is set to join Polish club Pogon Szczecin, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Mendy has hopped from club to club since departing Manchester City in 2023. The 2018 World Champions with Les Bleus joined FC Lorient following the conclusion of his contract with the Cityzens, however, he only spent a year and a half with Les Merlus before joining FC Zurich. His contract was terminated by the Swiss club in July, with his manager, Ricardo Moniz, stating that the defender did “not deliver what was expected of a starter” whilst at the club.

As a result, he once again found himself as a free agent. However, he is now set to be snapped up by Pogon Szczecin, who are currently ninth in the Polish top-flight. Mendy is expected to sign a one-year deal with the club, with the option to extend for a further year.
