Real Madrid are working overtime to improve their squad before entering the FIFA Club World Cup set to begin later this month in the USA.
The signings of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen have already been secured while the Merengues are trying to rope in Alvaro Carreras from Benfica, although the deal has stalled at the moment.
Meanwhile, another signing that Real Madrid are keen on completing before the Club World Cup is that of former academy ace Nico Paz, thriving at Como.
Real Madrid can re-sign the Argentine prodigy for a nominal fee of €8 million this summer, although that clause will go up to €9 million next year and €10 million in 2027.
Now, according to COPE, Nico Paz wants to understand Real Madrid’s plans for him before green-lighting a return to the club in the summer.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder left the Santiago Bernabeu for Como last summer and enjoyed a fine breakthrough campaign, finishing with six goals and nine assists from 35 Serie A outings.

While Real Madrid wish to bring him back, Nico wishes to know if the club has plans for him to grow in the team or whether they intend to simply transfer him to a different team.
The youngster is of the belief that if he does not get a chance to contribute in the first team and continue his development, it would be a waste of a year.
Furthermore, there is also some concern as the operation is being driven more by the club and not new manager Xabi Alonso.
The player’s perspective is understandable considering that he is a regular starter at Como and has developed rapidly. A return to Real Madrid would see him compete for minutes with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, and others.
So, it is natural for him to have concerns about his role in the team if he were to return. It remains to be seen how Real Madrid handle the issue and whether they end up bringing Nico back just a year after selling him.
