Sport Bild reports that former Real Madrid and Schalke striker Raul is interested in the Borussia Mönchengladbach job.
Raul left his role as Real Madrid Castilla head coach in the summer and has been eyeing a job in the Bundesliga since. Raul was a candidate for the vacant Bayer Leverkusen role in the summer before they hired Erik ten Hag.
The ex-Schalke striker’s agent is said to have expressed his client’s interest in the vacant Gladbach job.
However, Gladbach have not yet held any sort of negotiations with any external candidates as they are backing and monitoring how current interim head coach Eugen Polanski does.
Die Fohlen believe that Polanski could be the right coach for them, but they will see how the team performs in the upcoming games against Eintracht Frankfurt and SC Freiburg before a decision is made. The coach was promoted from his role as under-23 head coach following the sacking of Gerardo Seoane after Gladbach’s 4-0 loss to Werder Bremen.
