Former TS Galaxy talisman Dzenan Zajmovic has landed a new club in the Iran Persian Gulf Pro League, signing for ZobAhan on a free transfer after mutually parting ways with the Betway Premiership outfit at the end of last season.
The prolific forward joined Galaxy from Serbian topflight side Radnik at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign. Zajmovic quickly established himself as one of the deadly finishers in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
During his time with the Rockets, Zajmovic scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for the club. His impressive display sparked speculations about a potential transfer to one of the traditional big three clubs in the South African elite league.
The rumours were fueled by his surprise exit from the Tim Sukazi-owned team. However, the towering center-forward has since poured cold water on the claims of having contact with either Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Zajmovic was pivotal to Galaxy finishing in fifth place in the Betway Premiership last season, a record high for the club. He finished the season as the club’s top goal scorer as he was the leading no.9 for coach Adnan Beganovic.
Now, the 30-year-old is set for a new chapter in Asia as he put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Iran outfit, where former Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana was released after just two months.
