Former Wolves winger Will Randall has retired at 28, stepping away despite non-league offers to launch an online performance coaching venture focused on men’s physical fitness and, in turn, mental health. He leaves the game with a Wembley assist, National League promotion and three years at Molineux.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, he made the call last summer without any serious injury, feeling the moment had arrived for a fresh start after more than a decade in football.
Randall entered Swindon Town’s academy at seven and debuted at 17 and one day in League One against Rotherham at the County Ground. Interest from Bournemouth later distracted from a new deal, and he moved to Wolves in January 2016 at 18. As ownership changed, chances narrowed, though he trained with the first team under Paul Lambert and loans did not take off.
He left in 2019 and rebuilt at Sutton United, winning promotion from the National League and reaching the 2022 EFL Trophy final, a 4-2 extra-time defeat to Rotherham in which he set up Donovan Wilson. A spell at Notts County followed before further non-league football.
Across more than 200 senior appearances and 18 goals, Randall felt ready to prioritise happiness and move beyond playing. Now back in Swindon, he is taking clients as an online performance coach and hopes to support former players and others seeking structure and improved wellbeing.
