Leeds United are already weighing up summer reinforcements, whatever the final seven games bring. If they stay up, extra depth and quality look vital to turn draws into wins. If not, standout Championship talent could aid an instant return.
Leeds Live highlights four second-tier options who could strengthen the Whites next season.
Millwall winger Femi Azeez is the division’s in-vogue threat. Mostly on the right, he has eight goals and eight assists in 28 games, attracting Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Brentford, and Leeds could offer top-flight minutes despite wingers being out of favour in the past couple of months.
Southampton’s Leo Scienza, 27, plays wide or as a No. 10. He has six goals and eight assists in 30 games, three years left on his St Mary’s deal, and it has been reported Paris FC tried to pay €10 million last summer. At that price, Leeds could test his ceiling.
Hull left back Ryan Giles delivered eight assists in his first 20 games before a hamstring setback. Dislodging Gabriel Gudmundsson may be difficult, he has one year left plus an option, Sergej Jakirovic has tapped into his potential, and it is tempting to imagine Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the end of his crosses.
Millwall’s Tristan Crama, 24, has often covered at right back, a role Leeds may not prioritise. He looks a better fit centrally after Brentford and a standout Exeter loan, and at six feet four inches he could thrive as the right-sided centre half in a back three.
