France national team boss Didier Deschamps has provided a fresh update on the wellbeing of attacking star Kylian Mbappé.
This comes after the frontman was forced into a premature departure from his country’s latest outing.
France marked their return to action a short time ago, playing host to Azerbaijan in a World Cup qualifying clash.
The aforementioned Mbappé featured from the off in the fixture, and played a starring role in an eventual 3-0 triumph for Les Bleus.
The 26-year-old was responsible for a goal and an assist, in the process keeping alive a spectacular run of individual form.
Inside the closing exchanges on Friday, however, Mbappé pulled up with a fitness problem, before limping from the field of play and straight down the tunnel at the Parc des Princes.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle, the wellbeing of Real Madrid’s goalscorer extraordinaire was in turn put to Didier Deschamps.
And France’s headmaster went on to explan:
“Kylian Mbappé’s injury? He received another blow to the same ankle where he was hurt. The pain decreases when he rests. In a match, contacts are inevitably going to happen. We will assess it. He has discomfort that is not ideal for him.”
