Alongside the imminent signing of Noël Aséko, Eintracht Frankfurt are hoping to further bolster their midfield this summer.
One such name still being linked with the Hessen giants is that of Raphael Onyedika from Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge.
The 25-year-old was already a target for Eintracht Frankfurt in the past two transfer windows, although a move never materialised.
Now, alongside Bayer Leverkusen's Robert Andrich, Onyedika is once again a serious candidate for Frankfurt.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Frankfurt has already submitted an initial offer for the 25-year-old Nigerian international.
However, the defensive midfielder is unlikely to come cheap, even though he's now in the final year of his contract.
Last summer, a loan with an obligation to buy for up to €30million was discussed, but the deal proved too complicated.
Besides Frankfurt, other clubs are reportedly in the running for Onyedika – including both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
