Frankfurt submit opening bid for Anton Gaaei | OneFootball

Eintracht Frankfurt have submitted a €5m bid for Ajax defender Anton Gaaei (23), according to a report from Florian Plettenberg.

Die Adler recently re-appointed Adi Hütter as head coach with the task of bringing European football back to the Deutsche Bank Park after missing out on European football completely under Albert Riera.

And with Rasmus Kristensen’s departure to Midtjylland for €6m, Frankfurt are working on a deal to sign compatriot Gaaei from Ajax after reaching an agreement with the right-back over a five-year contract until 2031 – Ajax are yet to respond to Frankfurt’s opening approach for the Denmark international, who played 37 matches across all competitions for the Eredivisie club last season.

During his three-year spell at Ajax, Gaaei has made 111 appearances across all competitions, returning seven goals and providing 13 assists following his €4.5m move from Viborg in August 2023.
