Marc Leonard had been linked with a potential switch to Loftus Road
It has been reported that Queens Park Rangers are not actively pursuing a move for Birmingham City midfielder, Marc Leonard.
Such developments are according to West London Sport, with it being widely reported that the Scottish youth international is expected to depart St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park between now and the transfer deadline of 7PM on Monday, February 2nd. as he looks to source regular first-team minutes.
Birmingham are expected to conduct a squad overhaul of sorts between now and then, as Chris Davies' side look to relaunch a sustained bid for the Championship play-off places in their final 20 league matches of the season after an inconsistent return to the second tier thus far following their well-documented, record-breaking League One title success.
The West Midlands side currently find themselves 14th in the divsion, having taken 34 points from 26 games, and are currently three places and two points behind Rangers, who have also endured an inconsistent first six months under Julien Stephan's management - albeit their current position of 11th does represent significant progress.
Both clubs were extremely active in the summer transfer window, and are looking to make the required changes that can give them an advantage over several divisional rivals between now and the end of the regular season, with the Championship table still remaining extremely congested between the play-off places and lower mid-table positions.
The West London side have already completed one acquisition, with former loan favourite, Ronnie Edwards, eventually seeing a long-standing transfer saga with Southampton conclude through a long-term move worth £4.5m, whilst Blues have also only been able to confirm the signing of 28-year-old German left-back, Kai Wagner, thus far.
It is expected, though, that the imminent arrival of Colombian midfielder, Jhon Solis, on an initial loan which could be turned permanent - either optionally or through a mandatory appearance-based clause - will pave the way for Leonard's exit to be accelerated, with the 24-year-old continuing to be the subject of exit talk after failing to pin down a starting berth in the Second City ever since his switch from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2024.
However, whilst Championship sides do hold a strong interest in the Glasgow native's services, it is expected that Leonard will not be moving to Loftus Road in the coming weeks.

As previously mentioned, Leonard has struggled to pin down a place in Davies' plans, despite the fact his signature was courted with such conviction during the Blues boss' first transfer window in the West Midlands 18 months ago, with a £500,000 deal for his services looking like an initial bargain.
However, with Birmingham eventually securing a deal with Celtic for Japanese midfielder, Tomoki Iwata, two months later, the former Northampton Town loanee found it extremely tough to oust either the 28-year-old or South Korean ace, Paik Seung-ho from the starting lineup.
After starting in just 23 of Blues' 60 outings across all competitions, Leonard was linked with a potential return to League One in the summer with promotion favourites, Huddersfield Town, who had managed to previously lure Alfie May away from St. Andrew's.
However, whilst an exit failed to materialise, the former Hearts man has suffered a similar fate so far this term, making just 17 appearances across the Championship and EFL Cup.
Whilst he was selected as captain for their cup exit against Port Vale in August, Leonard has only started seven of those outings, and has been omitted from the squad for back-to-back 3-2 victories over Coventry City and Cambridge United.
It was claimed that both Sheffield United and Norwich City hold an interest in the playmaker's services, before Belgian Pro League side, Sint-Truidense VV, have reportedly eyed up a potential short-term loan move, as well as interest from MLS sides coming to the fore.
Birmingham World then reported on Wednesday that Rangers have the Scot on their radar as a midfield option. However, such claims have since been quashed by West London Sport, as well as the club's reported interest in Max O'Leary of Bristol City.

Of course, each transfer move has to be right for the two clubs and the player. After his switch to Birmingham has failed to work out, Leonard will be hoping that he is afforded a new lease of life in the coming weeks.
Despite the fact it has been discussed that he would certainly be an adequate addition for many Championship sides, Rangers are either not in the market for further additions in this department, or have a stronger interest in other targets.
It is obvious that Leonard isn't short of suitors, though, and he will hope that there is a swift resolution in place to this transfer saga.
