Mohamed Salah will says goodbye to Liverpool this afternoon, closing the chapter on a career with the Reds that will not be forgotten. From his Champions League final redemption to his haunting of great rivals, we've remembered some of Salah's finest moments in a Liverpool shirt.

Salah obliterates old side during record-breaking debut season

It's easy to forget that Liverpool's deal to sign Mohamed Salah was greeted with scepticism. A forgettable failed spell at Chelsea had cast doubt on his ability to cut it in thePremier League, while Jurgen Klopp had famously advocated for the signing of Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt. That data-driven preference for Salah ended up being a sliding doors moment in Liverpool history.

Salah scored on his Premier League debut for the Reds and from there did not stop. His first season saw the Golden Boot won and records shattered, with his 32 goals in the Premier League a seasonal-high for a 38-game season.

He added 11 more goals during Liverpool's run to theChampions League final, where a reunion with former side Roma in the last four was his highlight of the campaign. Salah was sensational as Liverpool overwhelmed the Italians at Anfield, opening the scoring with an effort into the top corner, before clipping a second over future teammate Alisson Becker.

He squared for Sadio Mane to extend the lead, and again as Roberto Firmino made it four. Firmino's second put Liverpool 5-0 ahead and, while two late goals gave Roma a lifeline, this was Salah's night. Even after nine seasons of elite-level displays, that night against Roma remains one of his greatest.

Spurs spot-kick seals Champions League redemption

Sadly, for Salah, that season's Champions League final was a disaster. An infamous tussle with Sergio Ramos saw his night ended early by a shoulder injury, as Liverpool lost to Real Madrid in Kyiv. A year later, the Reds returned to club football's biggest game and, this time, there was to be no disappointment.

Salah confidently slammed home a penalty awarded inside the opening seconds, before Divock Origi's goal sealed success against Spurs in Madrid. It was the first major trophy of the Jurgen Klopp era and a defining moment in the German's reign. Liverpool were cemented as one of the top teams in Europe, with Salah leading the charge.

Manchester United moment turns doubters into believers

That Champions League win got the monkey off the back for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, but the itch the club most wanted to scratch was closer to home.

Liverpool ended a 30-year wait for the Premier League title during the 2019-20 season with Salah, predictably, at the centre of arguably the definitive moment of the campaign.

Goals from Virgil van Dijk and Salah secured a 2-0 win over Manchester United in January that extended the Reds' lead to 16 points, with a game in hand. Having missed out on the title despite a record-breaking 97-point haul the previous season, Liverpool's unprecedented start to the season put them in an insurmountable position.

Salah's goal on the counter, following a long launch forward from Alisson, was greeted by an Anfield eruption of “we’re gonna win the league” for the first time that season. His shirtless celebration, alongside Alisson who had charged the length of the pitch to join him, is one of the most iconic images of the campaign.

Manchester United record and Old Trafford hat-trick

Salah's remarkable record against Manchester United was a slow burn that soon put the Red Devils through hell. He failed to score in his first four games against Manchester United, but after breaking that drought, embarked on an unstoppable run.

The Egyptian's 16 league goals against Manchester United is more than any player has ever scored against them, with his finest moment a hat-trick in a 5-0 win at Old Trafford in 2021. Salah became the first opposition player to score a hat-trick at Old Trafford in the Premier League era, as Jurgen Klopp's side secured a stunning win.

Solo stunner illuminates epic Premier League rivalry

Salah's time at Liverpool co-existed with one of the game's great modern rivalries, as the Reds battled Manchester City for supremacy in English football.

From neck-and-neck title races to huge clashes in Europe, peak Liverpool vs Manchester City had it all, as Jurgen Klopp's 'heavy metal' football competed against Pep Guardiola's genius.

Salah was often a protagonist in games that some regard as the highest level of football the Premier League has witnessed. Arguably, his best moment came in a thrilling Anfield draw in 2021.

Salah has scored 257 goals for Liverpool but perhaps none better than this. He spun past Joao Cancelo, took Bernardo Silva out with a stud roll, skipped past Aymeric Laporte, and lashed past Ederson from an impossibly tight angle on his weaker side. A breathtaking goal on the big occasion.

Salah sets new standard during second title win

There was understandable apprehension upon Jurgen Klopp's exit, with the largely unproven Arne Slot brought in as his replacement. Slot, however, was fortunate to inherit a fine group and, spearheaded by Salah, celebrated Premier League success in 2024/25.

Salah was, simply, a cut above the rest of the division. His 29 goals and 18 assists saw him breakthe record for goal involvements in a 38-game season, leading the league on both metrics.

A fourth Golden Boot equalled Thierry Henry's all-time record, while a third PFA Player of the Year award was an unprecedented achievement. A man whose career has been built on breaking records collected more for the collection to lead Liverpool to the championship.
