Gabi Zanotti has climbed into the Brasileirão Feminino’s all-time top four after scoring twice in Corinthians’ 5-1 win over Red Bull Bragantino on Friday. According to Meu Timao, the brace lifted her into that bracket. She now has 65 goals in the competition.
She struck after three minutes, meeting a Jaqueline cross with a firm header. Her second arrived before the interval when a Letícia Monteiro shot deflected off her and into the net.
Zanotti moved past Millene of Cruzeiro and Ketlen of Santos, both on 64. Only Laryh of Santos and Cristiane of Flamengo, tied on 66, and leader Byanca Brasil of Cruzeiro on 79, are ahead.
Chasing further ground, Zanotti will return to league action only after the FIFA international window. In the meantime the Brabas contest the Teal Rising Cup, a friendly tournament in the United States, opening against Kansas City Current on Thursday.
Corinthians resume their national campaign on 20 April, a Monday, facing Juventude at 21:00 at Estádio Homero Soldatelli in Flores da Cunha.
