Corinthians No 10 Gabi Zanotti, the club’s leading scorer this season, shone in a 4-0 win over América-MG in the fourth round of the Brasileirão Feminino on Monday, and said she is relaxed about a possible Brazil recall with Arthur Elias set to announce his Fifa Series squad on Wednesday. “As I always say, I just do my job here. A call-up is usually a consequence of what you do for your club. Arthur has always made it clear he will select regardless of age.”

She told Timão Delas in the mixed zone after the match.

“First comes Corinthians. I want a run of games, I want to regain confidence. The key now is to keep scoring and assisting. Work here, because the national team is always a consequence.”

Zanotti was among eight Corinthians players called by Arthur Elias for the last Fifa window between February and March. Brazil played three friendlies, beating Costa Rica 5-2 and losing to Venezuela 2-1 and Mexico 1-0. She featured for 13 minutes in the first game and 65 in the second, without scoring.

The Fifa Series is a new friendly format run by Fifa, with four teams meeting at one venue. Brazil will host an April edition at Arena Pantanal, facing South Korea on 11, Zambia on 14 and Canada on 18.
