Gabigol left out as Vojvoda names 24 for Santos’s Brasileirão opener | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Juan Pablo Vojvoda has named a 24-man squad for Santos’s Brasileirão opener away to Chapecoense on Wednesday at 20:00 Brasília time, at Arena Condá in Chapecó.

Gabigol, centre-back Adonis Frías and right-back Mayke have been rested with the Paulistão in mind and did not travel. Wilian Arão, who recently underwent kidney surgery, is also unavailable.

The centre-forward, who previously missed a match with tendinitis, has no injury and was spared to help maintain his rhythm in the state competition. Frías and Mayke are out as a precaution.

Vojvoda had signalled he would rotate his leading players to avoid serious injuries in the opening matches of 2026. Santos visit São Paulo at the Morumbis at the weekend and need a win to return to the Paulistão qualification zone.
