Leeds United left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson has eased fears over a knee knock sustained on Sweden duty during the World Cup play-offs.
"It's calm," Gudmundsson said. "I've been practicing and there's nothing strange about it." He was speaking to Fotboll Direkt.
"I immediately felt that it was a bang and not a twist. If it had been a twist, I probably wouldn't have been standing here now."
Gudmundsson featured in Sweden's 3-1 semi-final win over Ukraine on Thursday, tried to continue after the impact, then went off midway through the second half. He was later seen with ice on his knee.
He was put up for pre-match media duties ahead of the World Cup decider, a positive sign for his involvement. The 26-year-old has impressed Graham Potter, currently ahead of Daniel Svensson and Samuel Dahl, who play for Champions League clubs Borussia Dortmund and Benfica respectively.
"It's really not something I think about," Gudmundsson added. "I play in England match after match, that's the only thing I focus on. Tomorrow [tonight vs Poland] is probably the most important match of my career."
Victory would send the Leeds defender to his first World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico this summer.
Gudmundsson is the only Leeds player still involved in these play-offs, with Wales losing their semi-final to Bosnia & Herzegovina on penalties last week. Joel Piroe’s Suriname debut ended in defeat to Bolivia.
